Problem
Files of up to 1 GB took many minutes to process on SQL Server, stalling an operation that still received files through scattered channels.
Decision
A microservice architecture in C# and Python on Azure, with a React front end and intake and processing centralized in a single database. Clean Architecture and SOLID so dozens of services can evolve with fewer regressions.
Impact
Processing a 1 GB file dropped to 2–5 minutes, and operations moved 100% onto the in-house system, running under a 99.5% SLA.
